(And you thought the delivery was painful...)
Kidworks is in session Monday through Friday , year 'round. Individual class start times for curriculum vary and are provided at the start of each school year.
All fees include breakfast (served from ), morning snack, lunch, and afternoon snack. Full tuition is charged each week regardless of actual attendance. Due to demand for our full-time program we do not offer part-time or part-day sessions. Parents are allowed one free vacation week (for which tuition is not charged and their child does not attend) for every 12 months of continuous enrollment. Parents may use one additional week in which the child does not attend at half price.
Payments can be made BiWeekly, or Monthly (Weekly rates are provided here for reference only). KidWorks does not accept ELC vouchers, and we do not participate in VPK. Multi-child families receive a 5% Discount on their eldest child's tuition.
· KidWorks does not offer VPK at either location. We do not participate in the ELC resource program.
· Sprocket classes are created on an as-needed basis based on the age mix of the school at a particular point in time and as determined by us and may not be offered when your child attends KidWorks.
· Age ranges are posted a guideline. Class assignments and promotions are at the discretion of the Director. Class assignments and promotions will not necessarily occur on or near your child's date of birth. Children are grouped according to the year they'll enter Kindergarten.
· Published rates apply to new enrollment only. Please see your school's director for questions about rates and class transitions for existing families. Existing families are grandfathered in to their current rate. The rates published here will apply only when your child is promoted to the next class/age group.
There is an annual $120 enrollment and supply fee for the period from August - July per child due at start and then each March thereafter.
Classes age 1 use a curriculm developed by KidWorks in-house. Ages 2 - 3 each use their own prepared curriculum by Mother Goose Time. Pre-K classes use the HighReach Learning HILS curriculum, which is a modified Kindergarten age program.
KidWorks Pre-K Curriculum Vs. VPK
For the past eight years, our Silver Stars have been taught the High Reach Learning HILS curriculum. This curriculum is intended for Kindergarten age students and is one full grade level advanced from a standard 4 Year Old curriculum. It is intended to be an accelerated, more challenging and more academically rigorous program, because our experience shows that our students can handle it. We begin laying the foundation for it in our two year old classes.
We recently contacted the Florida Department Of Education and the Alachua County Early Learning Coalition (the agency which administers VPK locally) and asked them if our Silver Star curriculum met VPK standards..
Their determination was that our current Silver Star curriculum cannot be approved per VPK standards because it teaches concepts and skill sets that in their opinion are too advanced and therefore not age appropriate for four year olds. They would require that we step down one full grade level to an approved 4 year old curriculum. If your hope is that your child will fast-track into a gifted program when they enter grade school, it makes sense to give them that jump start now.
Based upon many years of strong feedback from graduated Silver Star parents, we know our program does an outstanding job of preparing children for Kindergarten, and our graduates already possess many of the skills being taught to their peers for the very first time.
There are only two advantages to the VPK program: 1) Parents enjoy reduced tuition, and 2) the school gains immediate access to a large pool of children receiving the subsidy to fill enrollment. Beyond that, KidWorks' Silver Stars receive a program that, according to the folks who run VPK, is academically superior to anything taught in any VPK class in Alachua County, and we will not lower our standards or reduce our expectations of your children in order to participate in VPK.
Any preschool's curriculum is only as good as the teachers that implement it. We're fortunate to have found and retained a really great team of teachers. They've been with us, and working together as a group, for the majority of the years we've been open, and we've become in many ways a big, extended family. They are by far the school's single greatest asset, and one of the big reasons we've enjoyed full enrollment since 1999. KidWorks attracts and retains staff by offering a competitive pay and benefits package that includes major medical insurance, supplemental insurance, a 401k retirement plan, paid Holidays, two paid weeks of vacation annually, and a whopping 75% discount on childcare. The employee cost for childcare decreases based on tenure to zero. (The industry standard is 10%)
Our Full Time Rates include the following bonus programs at no extra charge:
Our full-time kitchen-wizzes prepare a seemingly endless variety of nutritious, kid-friendly fare. Breakfast til eight. A home-cooked lunch (no fast food order-ins) is served daily and includes a hot entree, vegetable, fruit and fresh whole milk. An afternoon snack (or two) is provided. (The one year olds get a Morning Snack, too.)

Available Additional Services
The following in-house programs are available at KidWorks by independent providers at an additional cost. We've chosen them because they either add to your child's preschool experience, or make your home life easier and less stressful. Not all programs are offered at both locations. Ask your school's Director for details.
KidWorks waives any commission or fee on these services in exchange for lower prices to our families. These services are all optional.
In-house Spanish & French classes, provided by Fun Languages Gainesville. Visit their website at www.funlanguagesgainesville.com
By Sun Country Gymnastics. Weekly instruction by a gymnastics instructor aboard their unique Gym-In-A-Bus.
Gator Game Days/Parents Night Out
We found a great way to reward our staff, and offer a nice service to our clients. Several nights and weekends throughout the year, we turn the keys to KidWorks over to our employees, and they run their own sitting service, with 100% of the income going directly to them. Each year they offer several weekend evening sessions, holiday shopping sessions and all home Gator games as well.
CLOSING SCHEDULE & TEACHER WORKDAYS
As year-round programs it's impossible to find the time to do all of the maintenance and deep cleaning the schools require to be at their best. We take time each year and close the schools for a short period to prepare for the upcoming school year.

· All of the equipment and furnishings are inspected, repaired and cleaned or replaced as needed.
· All cots, tables, chairs and highchairs are treated with a bleach solution and pressure washed.
· The buildings complete exteriors and walkways are pressure washed.
· The schools are inspected room by room for damaged wall and trim paint, blown lights, damaged blinds, and working door and cabinet hardware and repaired as needed.
· All of the AC systems are cleaned and tuned up.
· The playgrounds are re-mulched.
